Description: Rare original vintage mid-20th century French illustrated copy of Edgar Allan Poe's, "Aventures d'Arthur Gordon Pym," (The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket). The book is softcover and is in overall very good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. It is wonderfully illustrated by Mario Labocetta with 6 color plates. The book is undated, but there is a penciled inscription to the front fep which is dated 1956. The covers have some mild soiling and wear with few vertical crease lines/stress lines to the spine. There are some minor interior cracks to the text block, but the binding of the book is still good and sound. The interior is lightly toned from age but is generally nice and clean, though there may be the occasional light bit of foxing & grubbiness. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of minor imperfection such as a creased page corner, tiny chip or tear, etc. Generally though, it's a nice copy. The book measures approximately 9 inches by 6 3/4 inches and is 185 pages long. The text is in French. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
