Description: North African (Libya) Copper Art Plate Set from 1953. These absolutely stunning Hand Crafted plates were purchased by my parents in Tripoli, Libya when my Dad was stationed there in 1953 when he was in the Air Force. The hand crafting of these pieces is amazing ! They were never used for serving. They were hung as wall art. They are in like new condition ! The copper may be alloyed with another metal, such as tin. That would account for the lack of oxidation. The last picture displays the only sign of oxidation, which is nearly non-existent. The large plate measures 19.5" in diameter. The two smaller plates measure 9 and 1/8" in diameter. The two smaller plates have a copper wire that is soldered on the back for hanging. The larger plate has a copper sleeve to put a wire through for hanging. The second last picture has the artist's stamp on it. This picture may be hard to view. It says Fauzi Naas, Tripoli Please view pictures for condition. These items are being sold as is,as pictured with no returns accepted. It will be adequately packaged to insure intact delivery. A great addition to anyone's collection of African artwork or anyone that collects handcrafted plates or artwork. FREE SHIPPING TO THE LOWER 48 UNITED STATES ! No overseas shipping.
