Description: 1950s USAF Giebelstadt C-119 Training Camp Germany Vintage 8mm Home Movie Film Estate Sale Find Approx 6:45 of footage, beginning with the view from a cockpit of a plane landing. Reel is labeled 'Giebelstadt Training' and lots of footage of soldiers at the camp eating and doing other things, but LOADS and LOADS of planes. Planes and more planes, on the ground, taxiing around, taking off, flying around, landing. SOOOOO MANY PLANES. I believe it to be 50s based on other films accompanying it, it is certainly mid-late 50s. Most were 1955-1958, during time a US military couple was stationed in Europe, Germany in particular. Film played ok for me and does not appear to have any vinegar smell to it, but it is vintage, going on 70+ years old, and inherently is at risk like any old film for issues with condition and integrity. *Note - film may or may not come on reels, it may be coiled in paper envelope. Varies based on how it was found and length.
