1950-D Jefferson Nickel, PCGS MS-66 FS -- KEY DATE COIN IN RARE GRADE!

Description: For sale is the rarest of all Jefferson Nickels--a 1950-D graded and certified by PCGS as MS-66 FS, which is actually incredibly high for Nickels from this era. The FS in the grade stands for "Full Steps" referring to the steps on the Monticello on the reverse. Most Nickels minted for circulation will have flat spots on the steps, but those that have all the very fine lines for each step fully visible and separate, indicating the coin is a superior strike. This coin is literally the rarest and most valuable of all Jefferson Nickels minted for circulation because they minted a very mere 2.6 million coins. That may seem like a lot, but to put it in perspective they minted 28.6 million coins in 1951. This makes the 1950-D the lowest-minted Jefferson Nickel of them all. To find them in nice MS-66 condition like this one is even more of a rarity. But when you get them with "FS" in the grade it almost triples the value from a regular MS-66. MS-66 is so rare, in fact, that the highest grade a 1950-D has ever achieved is MS-67, and one of those is valued at $ 520.00! Which is means that this coin is the second-highest grade this coin is available in!As you can see from the pics the coin is in stellar MS uncirculated shape. The coin has all the original shine and mint luster to it, and even the majority of the lines on the Monticello steps are visible.
