Description: This is for an original circa 1950-1960 Hillerich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger Jimmie Foxx signature model F3 bat which is uncracked with nice use. Foxx had retired from major league baseball during the time this bat was made, but he would manage the Fort Wayne Daisies of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League in 1952, coach the University of Miami baseball team in 1956 and 1957, and become the hitting coach of the Boston Red Sox minor league affiliate Minneapolis Millers in 1958 and 1959. The bat has all correct labeling for the time period and is 35 inches long and weighs 34.2 ounces. While a Jimmie Foxx bat from his playing career would set you back the price of a nice car, this one could make do until you have the funds for such a model. Jimmie’s later drinking problems made many fans forget his legacy, but its hard to forget the second man to enter baseball’s 500 home run club, a three time MVP, two time World Champion, nine time All Star along with winning the Triple Crown in 1933. Foxx would have won another triple crown in 1932 but Dale Alexander would lead Foxx in batting average .367 to .364. Long standing health problems along with injuries and heavy drinking took a toll on Foxx’s career or he might have rewritten baseballs record book. This is a great keepsake from one of the greatest hitters the game of baseball has ever known. Check out the scans and email with any questions.
