(or TCMA). While many TCMA sets are actual reprints of earlier works, this card is NOT a reprint edition but an original issued in 1983. It was intended to provide hobbyists with a continuation of the popular Play Ball series begun in 1939 and discontinued after 1941 due to the onset of World War II. This card of Hall of Famer (HOF) Luke Appling is featured in the style and format of Gum, Incorporated's highly desired 1940 Play Ball series.
