Description: PICTURE POST MAGAZINE September 23rd, 1939 - Vol 4, No 12Please scroll down for additional pictures These vintage Picture Post magazines are a wonderful resource of news and contemporary thought - giving insight to the news, politics and current affairs of the world. There are articles and lots of pictures, and these late 1930s issues are particularly interesting! And the advertisements are great, too. In this issue:Cover: Anna NeagleLord Halifax by Wickham SteedWe Fight for CivilisationU-Boats AgainBritish Trade Unionists back the WarA Day in the life of a Professional Dancing PartnerGirl Judges Turkey - Mlle HayrunisaModern BustlesDiary of the War – No 3 – The First WeekThe Sinking of The SS Athenia The magazine is large format, measuring appoximately 34cm by 26cm, with 52 pages Condition: The magazine is in good vintage condition, showing reading wear and some creasing to the covers, plus the staples have rusted, making the pages loose and some staining damage around the staples, there is a newsagent’s delivery name written on the front cover - visible in the pictures below. Given that the magazine is over 80 years old, its condition is pretty good, but certainly not perfect! The magazine pictured below is the one you will receive. I accept returns, and if you’d like any further information, just ask! FBS 1B14 - F _gsrx_vers_1677 (GS 9.8.1 (1677))
