Description: For those of us old enough to remember, (gulp!) "FIVE AND DIME" stores were a treasure trove of EVERYTHING you could imagine. The most well known names were: F.W. Woolworth, The Kress 5, 10 and 25 cent Store; S.S. Kresge, G.C. Murphy Co. and others. One of the most memorable and recognizable was W. T. Grant Co. 25 Cent Store ("Grants"). Founded in 1906 by William Thomas Grant, Grants was a variety store chain of mass merchandise of all kinds. This telegram sent through Postal Telegraph The International System is dated JUL.8 1935 (ALMOST 90 YEARS OLD!!) from Long Island City, New York. Addressed to: S. Mosdell at the Grants in Portland, Maine it confirms that ...."Your plan all right...Will ship additional stock today", signed J.B. Williams. Can't help but wonder what it was????? Apart from the creases and a bit of wear to the envelope, this communique will make a rare addition for any W.T.GRANT CO. collection! GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR VIEWING GOODEYE'S COOLBUYS!!! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! Check out my other items!
