Vatican City, Rome, Italy-High dignitaries at the Vatican have privately expressed fear that Pope Pius XI, is nearing the end of his reign. Stricken with paralysis in his legs and suffering from respiratory complications which make his breathing hourly more difficult, the aged Pontiff took a turn for the worse last night, December 5th. His personal physicians and aides, numbering half a dozen medical experts, were at his bedside in continuous consultation.
