Liberals capture important city of Chinandega. - Chinandega, Nicaragua -- The liberal forces captured Chinandega, sixty miles northwest of Managua, a city of 10,000 people and once the Capitol of the United Republics of Nicaragua, Honduras and Salvador, after a pitched battle thru the streets. The city was almost completely destroyed by fire which swept uncontrolled after the battle.
