1925 Stars Of The Diamond Notebook Eddie Collins 1920

This is a treat for Deadball era advanced collectors (I know this is slightly into the liveball era, but, c'mon it's Eddie Collins...) Not much is known about these early 1920s notebooks, which are often called circa 1925 Stars of the Diamond or 1920-24 Stars of the diamond or circa 1920 Stars of the Diamond notebooks (the Babe Ruth one, which I have, as just the cover, shows him on the Yankees so it has to be at least 1920,) rarely come up for sale, and it is even rarer for a complete example to come up like this one, as opposed to just the cover. This Notebook is about 9 3/4" X 8". It grades a BGS 2.5 G-VG or GD+. Both the front and back are free of markings, which is rare for one of these covers/books. There is light chipping to the corners of paper and a spot of loss in the lower left corner edges have some wear, and there's a touch of light wrinkling and some indentations, probably below where a pen was. This is the larger of two known sizes. There is also a 9X6" This really is a special piece for a deep Collins / 1919 White Sox fan. For context, a Chief Bender cover only, ungraded, with scribbles all over the image and the back sold for $336 in April, and a Burleigh Grimes cover went for over $300 last year. (The slab on the top back has some "shmutz" on it where it looks like a piece of tape was removed. I could clean it but left it to you. It's not over the notebook itself at all.) As an aside, I have Hornsby Collins and Ruth covers only that I'm trying to figure out how to handle if you have ideas... Anyway, this is a great piece you can display proudly.
