В ее основе воспоминания Эренбурга о Первой мировой войне: франко-германском фронте1915-1917 годов, на котором два русских корпуса сражались вместе с французскими и английскими соединениями.Живший в те годы во Франции, Эренбург был корреспондентом газет "Утро России" и "Биржевые ведомости" и постоянно выезжал на фронт. Газетные корреспонденции и статьи того времени впервые представлены в настоящем издании. В 1922 году в Берлине и в 1924 году в Париже книга "Лик войны" существенно перерабатывалась. Воронов Леонид Александрович (1899 - 1938). Входил в творческое объединение художников «Бытие». В конце 1920-х оформлял книги для издательства «Земля и фабрика» (ЗИФ). Работал в Москве в области киноплаката (в т.ч. для немого кино) , в основном совместно с М. И. Евстафьевым. Сотрудничал со студиями «Рекламфильм» и «Совкино». Участник «Кремлевского дела» - уголовного следственного дела по обвинению в государственной измене. В 1935 году был приговорен к 6 годам тюремного заключения. Погиб в 1938 году. THE FACE OF WAR - the first prose book of the poet, prose writer, essayist and publicist Ilya Ehrenburg, written by him in Kyiv in 1919. It is based on Ehrenburg's memories of the First World War: the Franco-German front of 1915-1917, on which two Russian corps fought together with French and English connections. Living in those yearsin France, Ehrenburg was a correspondent for the newspapers "Morning of Russia" and "Birzhevye Vedomosti" and constantly traveled to the front. Newspaper correspondence and articles of that time for the first time presented in this edition. In 1922 in Berlin and in 1924 in Paris, the book "The Face of War" significantly recycled. Leonid Voronov (1899 - 1938). He was a member of the creative association of artists "Genesis". In the late 1920s,he designed books for the Land and Factory (ZIF) publishing house. He worked in Moscow in the field of film posters(including for silent films), mainly together with M. I. Evstafiev. Collaborated with the studios "Reklamfilm" and "Sovkino". Member of the "Kremlin Case" - a criminal investigation case on charges of high treason. In 1935 he was sentenced to 6 years in prison. Killed in 1938.
