The back caption in fountain pen reads: “Happy Hood ‘22 S.P.H.S.” “SPHS” is very likely South Pasadena High School (California). [South Pasadena HS was founded in 1906].Looking at the South Pasadena High School alumni association website finds that there was an “Howard Hood” in the Class of 1922. His face & haircut on the website is very similar to the grooming of the football player in this photo. The site reports that Howard Hood lived from March 24, 1904 to April 29, 1976. The photo measures about 4-1/2 inches by 7-1/2 inches. This 99 year old photo is in good overall condition.
