1920s Cowboy Scenes Trading Card V155 Ganong Rodeo Chocolate Bar #17 Like T53

Description: This rare card is one in a series of 50 cards issued in Canada by the GANONG BROS . LIMITED of St.Stephan New Brunswick Canada. One was inserted into each package of their GANONG’S RODEO Bars. Although not recorded in the original American Card Catalogue (ACC). These do appear in the Non Sports Bible Catalog and are identified as series V155. Each card depicts some aspect of cowboy and wild west life. The images used are the same as the ones used by the American Tobacco Company in their T53 series (as well as others card sets such as Weber Bread and Hamilton Chewing Gum Company). The nice thing about this series is the fact that it contains the ‘An exciting Game” card that was not issued in the original ATC T53 series as it depicted a gun battle over a game of cards and was not deemed suitable for issue at the time. The back provides information about the card series, and has advertising written in both French & English For Ganong. This card is number 17 in the series, and is entitled “HELPING THE SHERIFF” .These cards do appear smaller than the T53’s series with very little border and almost appear trimmed. However that is not the case as they were in fact issued smaller and every card I have ever found from this series over the last 40 years has that appearance. The Card measures 3 3/16 inches by 2 5/16 inches approximately. The card does have some corner and edge wear, but is free from major creases. I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself.
