Description: Tall Japanese-style Geisha Vase Green & Gold 1920’s. Unusual amateur piece painted with 4 geishas with umbrellas. Forest green base with metallic gold background and inner lip rim. I believe this is an amateur hand-painted whiteware piece. Japanese subject matter was very popular in the late 1910's and 1920's. Back in early 1900's, talented ladies of leisure purchased "white ware" to decorate at home. Condition: Very good giftable condition. Only mentionable issue: Gold top rim inside showing spots of paint erosion (see last photo). No visible crazing or discoloration. Paint and glaze intact with good color and without scratches or erosion. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges. No signs of previous repair or restoration.Dimensions: 12” tall x 6” widest diameter. Top lip 4.5”. base 3-7/8”.
