CommentsAfter the break up of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, some of these notes were overprinted with a Cyrillic occupying-military-authority stamp for use. These were heavy, purple stamps which bled through the paper and tend to be difficult to read. Example: Not long thereafter, P-19 notes that were not overprinted in this way were used once again by what became the republic of German-Austria. They were overprinted on the obverse in the right pane with the Germano-Austria stamp, covering the multi-lingual lettering. These overprinted notes are known as Pick # 51 (see the reference below).
