Description: Electric Railway Handbook by Albert S. Richey, E.E. (electrical engineer). First edition published by McGraw Hill Book Co. in 1915. Subtitle: A reference book of practice data, formulas, and tables for the use of operators, engineers, and students. 832 pp. Mr. Richey is described as a “consulting engineer, professor of electric railway engineering, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Fellow of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers”. A trove of information, diagrams and charts relating to trolleys. Chapter headings: Roadbed and track, buildings, train movement, rolling stock, transmission and distribution, and signals and communications. For trolley, or interurban railway collector. This book is from the collection of a prolific collector of scientific, engineering, and drafting reference books, usually containing prolific drawings and schematics. Additionally, he collected antique engravings, prints, and rare books. The gentleman was one of the first executive engineers at Texas Instruments, and collected numerous examples of fine draftsmanship.
