Description: This listing is for a 1914-1915 "Yizkor Book of Remembrance and Mourner's Prayers in English and Hebrew" published by the Washington Cemetery Corporation, a historical and predominantly Jewish burial ground located at 5400 Bay Parkway in Mapleton, Brooklyn, New York. This 24-page softcover book measures 4 3/4" x 7". This book was distributed to mourners with family buried at Washington Cemetery. On the first page it lists the following 3 officers: Hiram A. Grosner, President, Samuel B. Hamburger, Secretary, and Adulphus E. Karelson, Treasurer. There are several prayers in this booklet including Yizkor for Father and Mother, Yahrzeit, Kaddish, Prayer on the Grave of Father or Mother, Upon Entering a Cemetery, Unveiling of a Tombstone, and more. In the preface it says: "May this book further devotion, bring consolation to humbled hearts and welfare to our sisters and brothers in our faith." I imagine there are only a few copies of this book still in existence from this time period. This 100+ year old book has a page near the end for listing "Anniversary Days of Death of Father" and "Of Death of Mother". The earliest year listed is 1915, which helps date this to 1914 or 1915. Condition: This booklet shows wear. Several corners have small creases as do the covers. I do not see any tears. There is some discoloration to the back of the cover. This is held together by 2 rusty staples and the center 2 pages have detached from the staples. Please see the many photos for more detail. Money-back guarantee.
