Reno's Successful New England Comedy, ALONG THE KENNEBEC New York City: Published by M. Witmark & Sons, 1906; with 16 pages + 4 page cover with artist's depiction of the Kennebec River on the cover that the artist has presumably signed (in the plate) with a small animal - probably a rabbit (see scan) ODD WORLD WAR 2 PREDICTION?One of the sets of "advertised" lyrics in the book is a very odd and prescient (in some ways) song predicting a dire outcome for World War 2 - EVEN THOUGH IT WAS COPYRIGHTED IN 1905: "When America is Captured by the Japs" (see scan #4) by Paul West and John W. In looking at SOME of the songs, there seems, if one goes by the lyrics, to be no direct connection to the Kennebec VIS A VIS the songs themselves. I have a feeling that this was a musical review of sorts with LOTS of dialogue connected with the Kennebec with some songs thrown in to make it into a "musical." As of 10 May 2023, I could find no other listing for this music book @ ebay, either current or completed listings some modest wear and old soiling but spine and binding staples holding really well. TEXT PAPER (not covers) are toning and browning some and can be a bit on the fragile side (If handled roughly) so if you end up buying this, handle the text pages with care!. GOOD PLUS but still basically sound, quite presentable and displayable ..... this is the older pre-1920 sheet music format which measures approx. 9 1/2 x 12 inches - too large for my scanner bed. That makes it appear trimmed or cropped but I assure you it is full-sized. ______________________________________________________________ (the fine print ...
