1900s RIVER STEAMBOAT Die Cut PAPER TOY Lion COFFEE K31 River Boat Paddle Boat

Description: This fantastic PAPER TOY (also referred to as a Paper Doll or Card ) was issued by the WOOLSON SPICE CO. of Toledo Ohio as an insert premium in their brand of LION COFFEE, circa 1890’s to early 1900’s era. This series is listed as K31 in the American Card Catalogue. The toy has been die-cut and folded along the lines indicated on the card so that the collector could stand them up and use them as toys. The back of the card indicates that there were 30 different toys in the series. THIS ONE IS A RIVER STEAMBOAT. The piece measures 3 ¼ inches by 6 ¼ inches approximately at its tallest and widest points. The piece does have some creasing and is missing a piece of the fold back flap at the bottom. I have scanned the card both front and back fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself. This is a rare and highly desirable cross over collectable. It is coveted by paper doll and toy collectors and coffee advertising collectors, Because of the fact that it was issued as a toy to be played with, and that it is fairly fragile to begin with, not many have survived over the 120 years (a true American Antique).
