Becoming an assistant of Dr. John Wright who had conducted important experiments on electroplating Walker secured the royalty of electroplating for Sheffield. The business was joined by Henry Hall and became in 1853 Walker & Hall. The factory was at Howard Street, Sheffield, Walker & Hall was converted into a limited liability company in 1920 under the style Walker & Hall Ltd and combined in 1963 under the British Silverware Ltd with Mappin & Webb and Elkington & Co. Walker and Hall Sheffield were primarily Sheffield Makers, but items with Birmingham, London and Chester Assay Marks can also be found. Antique original pieces at least 120 years old guaranteed, been manufactured in 1900 and 1904 matching designs in excellent condition, showing impressive solid quality manufactured silver on Cooper both done in the old Sheffield plate style, there are no dents, monogram cuts, or major scratches, minor cosmetic details as pictured, the insides on both pieces are perfectly clean still holding the silver coating at its 90%, minor cosmetic details to one of them as pictured, overall both pieces show generous silver coating with that particular bright sparky tone old sheffield plate gives, impressive detailed and elaborated castings enhanced with rich soft patina, each piece holding the correspondent numbers that share the lid and bottom and the date Greek letter marks for 1900, and 1904., Each about 5 7/8" to the top of the handle, 12 1/2" long and 10 1/4" wide, 5,11 lbs weight before packing, impressive old world pieces perfect for this coming holidays
