Description: Here's a beautiful 1890s original solid brass skater's lantern or child's kerosene lamp with scarce original cobalt blue glass globe, brass tank, brass burner and brass vented top with original carrying handle also made of brass! ....... 6 3/4"tall (11 1/2"to top of handle).....Brass tank has hand soldered brass bottom....brass burner is in excellent working condition with no damage. It still turns the wick up and down smoothly....... hand blown deep cobalt blue glass globe has no embossing ...it is the actual permanent cobalt color of the glass itself; not stained or flashed.....globe is 4"tall....ground threaded top and ground threaded bottom. Excellent shiny nice condition with only a couple small shallow flakes on both the top & bottom ground mouths. ....The vented screw on top is also solid brass ....Excellent shiny nice condition with no dents or damage.. Original handle is also brass. This wonderful antique skater's lantern was probably used by some kid or adult on night trips to the outhouse!
