I have shown many pictures of the covers and the inside page of each front/back cover to show issues. The front cover is good with some slight discoloration. Each of the corners of the covers and the top/bottom spine show shelf wear type issues. Colors on the front are good and the gold writing is good. As you open the covers, the paper is separated in areas making the covers slightly loose on both front and back. The main body of the book is solid and reads well. It’s in good shape. This is a 1st edition and on the inside cover has a bookplate from the previous owner a gentleman named Joseph Talcott Hull who was born in 1846-1913. The plate shows he was in Brooklyn New York and he had an extensive collection with this book numbered 1143 in his personal library. There is lots of history of the Talcott-Hull family from the 1700’s-1900’s…you might find this person was an important person. As I have carefully scanned the book, there is no foxing of the pages, no obvious damage to the pages, etchings and information are good within. I understand this to be a valuable book, I will price it so you can recondition it as you see necessary. It would still look great “As-Is” on the shelf.
