Description: Historic piece of the Industrial Revolution in Berkshire County Massachusetts. This 1880 curvilinear brick comes from the large 160 foot tall smoke stake of the former Taconic Mill on Wachonah Street along the Nirth Branch of the Housatonic River in Pittsfield Mass. This smoke stack brick has holes with the brick to allow for expansion and contraction with heat from the hot coal fired smoke that ran the mills steam plant and the butter cold of the harsh New England winters. This is a historic curiosity from the 18th century. A great gift for that special person who is into architecture, construction or a collector of fine bricks, tile and masonry.
