Description: A NICE ANTIQUE COPY OF THIS "MANUAL OF GEOGRAPHY" AUTHORED BY MATTHEW FONTAINE MURRAY. First published in 1870 by University Publishing Company, this edition was published in 1880. Overall it is in VERY GOOD CONDITION, with the main wear issue being the boards and the cracking of front/rear endpapers. The boards show heavy edge and corner wear, particularly top and bottom of boards. The beauty of the antique front board can be seen, but it is soiled and scraped. The back board (not shown in listing photos) provides titles of other books by the publisher. The text block is very solid and solidly attached to the spine. However, endpapers were cracked and needed reinforcement with black bookbinding tape - see listing photo for front reinforcement. With this reinforcement, the book is very solid and usable. A previous owner inked his/her name on free front and rear endpapers, no further marks in 160 clean and solidly bound pages. The book measures 12" by 10".
