The quarter-bound cover has a leather spine and corners, and marbled patterned paper boards. There is gilt lettering on the spine, over black and dark red backgrounds. The panelled spine has ornate gilt decorations tooled into the leather. This includes small marks, scratches, small areas of rubbing to the leather, and small rips in the leather. Please see the photographs which I have provided for further details. Inside, the pages are lightly tanned, but this is consistent with a book of this age. The pages are in an overall neat, clean, and predominantly uncreased state, with only occasional very light foxing or very small marks, and the very occasional very small fold or very light creases in the gutter of some of the pages. There is no pen or pencil written inside this book. There are no rips on the pages. The main text block of the pages is mostly tightly bound, and there is just an extremely light and partial crack in the gutter between pages 96 and 97 are light cracks in the gutter between the pastedowns and endpapers (see photos). All pages are secure and there are no loose pages. There are no missing pages and so all 338 pages are present and accounted for.
