Description: This is an original letter (one page front and back) written to Rob Morris Jr. from his father Rob Morris dated 9 Aug 1878 primarily regarding the marriage of Rob Morris' Daughter Ruth (Rob Jr's sister). Not all of the written words are easily decipherable, but Of note, some of the snippets in the letter: "Wedding came off 7pm...gave them a fine supper. About 12 guests." John's family refers to Rob Jr's brother. "Ruth mad the finest supper of any bride I have seen since her mother stood up by me 28 years ago." "With Hearty Love, Father" Rob Jr. compiled a book of letters (scan #3) he received primarily from his Father, sister and brother over approx 15 years. He glued the letters on the left edge into the book of letters which makes that edge somewhat ragged. Note: This listing is for the one page only letter...not the book containing letters. The '58' in pencil at top of letter is a notation by Rob Jr. that this letter is the 58th entry in his book.
