Description: 1878 Letter: Dear Mr. Brigham We Lost All the Money You Loaned Us - Westminster, MA. Dear Sir, Since Walter Harwois & I borrowed that two hundred dollars of yours our success has been to lose all we both had in the meat business besides getting into debt. We thought we was going to do well as we told you but everything seemed to run into the ground. In the first place the market was misrepresented. We had too good an opinion of So-Gardner Market and believed too much I suppose so got cheated the first thing $200 certain so everything went for we had hard competition and had to sell too low and found we was running behind- so we moved to Westminster thinking we could do better but it didn't seem to improve..... Letter continues for a total of 4 pages. Signed George Allen.
