Description: Original circa 1870’s-1890’s very ornate cast bronze frame with lovely foliate designs. The frame has a pleasing natural rich patina from age. There are no cracks & no repairs to the metal. There are some tiny holes, some small bumps, some small nicks, & some small dents on the exterior outer plain smooth edge. The back of the frame has some numbers & letters written on the surface with felt tip pins. As there is nothing present to hang this frame on the wall we are wondering if perhaps the frame was made to be a top section on a box? We really do not know. The frame measures 7 3/8 inches long by 5 7/16 by 9/32 inches deep. The opening size in the middle of the frame measures 3 15/16 inches long by 2 1/2 inches wide.
