Description: 1863 Civil War letter with transcript. The sheet of paper is 9 3/4" x 15 1/2" and was folded in half to create four 9 3/4" x 7 3/4" pages to write on. After the hand written letter was composed, the paper was folded in half again and then in thirds to fit into an envelope. The envelope is not included. The letter mentions Henry T. Benton and the resignation of Captain West, Company E.
