Description: The original hand signed 1861 “Two Dollars” - “The State of North Carolina” note was issued from Raleigh, N.C.. The serial number “7616” was also hand inscribed. It has a plain back as is common for the period. The note was printed by “F.W. Borneman - Charleston S.C.”. Original lead bullets excavated from the Wilderness and Spotsylvania Battlefields near Fredericksburg, Virginia. The 1864 battles were the beginning of General Grant’s “Overland Campaign” to take Richmond. There are two three ring Federal rounds for the Springfield rifle or contract arms of that caliber and a fired .57 Confederate Enfield at center. They are mounted in an 8” x 12” Riker style case with glass front. All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original Civil War issue or as stated.
