1855c. Glorious 30Ct. Natural Pink Topaz/Enamel 14k Gold Bracelet

Description: This high-Victorian Bracelet in mint-condition has all the bells and whistles! Dating to ca. 1850-1860, this glorious jewel reflects the best materials and craftsmanship available to the Victorian -era lapidary. A magnificent, oval mine cut, natural pink topaz which weighs approx. 30 carats is the focal point of this Bracelet. The topaz is a shade of petal-pink, fine clarity, graded as having no visible flaws and compliments its blue enamel with Acanthus Leaf design beautifully, which is a special feature! The topaz is claw- set (16xYG) in a beautiful basket work, over a 14k gold frame generously embellished with blue enamel ( all gold unmarked but tested). This enamel is worked in scroll and acanthus leaf motifs, and the shade is a medium blue, very popular in the 1850s-1860s. The enamel is 99.9% intact without losses or repairs! The body of the Bracelet is crafted from substantial gold. which feels like silk against the skin! The Natural Ceylon topaz in its enamel frame measures approx. 13 x 20 x 4.00 mms or 20 mm across and of good proportion and weighs 30. 00cts. The body of the Bracelet measures 1/4 “ wide. The Bracelet retains its original 10 mm Box clasp, which disappears into the side of the Bracelet when worn. The Bracelet is small in size, measuring 6 1/3” in length, possibly why it has survived in such a fine condition. The Bracelet weighs 12. Grams. Having never suffered repairs or alterations, this Bracelet is still in as fresh a condition today as it was when it graced the arm of a fashionable and wealthy lady of the 1859s.
