Derby, New YorkPublication Date: 1854Edition: 1st Edition Condition: Good ITEM DESCRIPTION Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved antique volume by S. H. Hammond! A great find from a local Massachusetts estate! This antique first edition is over 169 years old! First edition. Ex-library. In nice shape overall! Original publisher cloth binding shows some general wear including a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, soiling and rubbing to the boards and spine, some general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some soiling and spotting to the page edges. Binding is just ever so slightly cocked. Otherwise this is an attractive, tight, well-preserved antique volume! Internally, this volume is in good shape as well. Both boards and all page groupings remain attached to the binding. This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers, fly pages, the title page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions. The text block of this volume is clean overall and perfectly readable throughout. Pages show light toning typical of age, as well as some light to moderate soiling and foxing scattered throughout (generally in the last half of the book) and some general winkling and corner creasing to the paper stock. Otherwise this antique tome is clean and free from rips and tears. Illustrated with a handful full page plates, protected by tissue; tissue shows moderate wear and is lacking on one illustration. Make sure to see the additional photos in the description below for more information. 340 pages. Measures approximately 7 3/4 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches wide by 1 1/4 inches thick.
