Description: This is an oval-shaped dessert plate made of bone china porcelain by the Samuel Alcock in England during the (approximately) 1840s. The plate features an apple green color with botanical and floral patterns, hand-painted and gilded in a Rococo style. It is an original piece with a pierced edge and handled design. The fractional pattern number 2 / 1021 is hand painted on the back. Exact measurements are 304mm x 238mm x 32mm. If you’d like to follow the included link, you’ll find some information about the Alcock studio in England. Scroll down to “Dessert and Fancy Wares” for this exact piece- The person who helped me identify the plate recently added my pictures to her Alcock pattern examples (as Samuel Alcock pieces are often confused for Ridgeway.) https://ridgwaypatternbook.org.uk/other.html#alcock This piece is in fabulous antique condition. There are no chips and only a small amount of guilding loss. There is one approximately 1 inch hairline fracture visible on the underside of the plate. Please see the last two photos for closeups of these details. For its considerable age, I find its condition stunning! Thanks for looking. Please free to message with questions.
