SIZE: The printed area including titles is approximately 16.5 x 11.5 cm (6.25 x 4.25 inches) plus margins with a blank back (small). ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER: Engraved by Benjamin Rees Davies (1789 - December 16, 1872) from a drawing by T. Allom. Thomas Allom (13 March 1804 – 21 October 1872) was an English architect, artist, and topographical illustrator. He was a founding member of what became the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). He designed many buildings in London, including the Church of St Peter's and parts of the elegant Ladbroke Estate in Notting Hill. He also worked with Sir Charles Barry on numerous projects, most notably the Houses of Parliament, and is also known for his numerous topographical works, such as Constantinople and the Scenery of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor, published in 1838, and China Illustrated, published in 1845. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Bodinnick (Cornish: Bosdinek, meaning fortified dwelling) is a riverside village in south-east Cornwall, in the United Kingdom. It is a fishing village situated on the east bank of the River Fowey opposite the town of Fowey, also on the banks of the Fowey River. The ferry crossing is from Fowey to Bodinnick and the "Old Ferry Inn" is located on its bank glorified as "in the heart of Du Maurier country".
