Description: Here's an early double inkwell from New England with 2 sizes of early pontiled ink bottles encased in a wood housing....2 1/4"tall x 3 1/2"round....cork plugs in bottom can be removed...Both bottles are hand blown with open pontil scars...rolled lips...aqua.....Excellent condition with no chips or damage. The wood is all nice. It has 4 small holes in top for holding feather quill pens. This was a popular style of early inkwell in the early 1800s....it was made in New England.. ....
