Author(s): Samuel Rogers. Publisher & Date: London: Printed for T. Cadell; and E. Moxon, 1830; 1834. Pages: vii, [1], 284; viii, 295, [1] pp. Dimensions (Approx): 21 x 14.5 cm. Illustrations: Each volume with a series of vignettes, mostly after J. M. W. Turner and Thomas Stothart, variously engraved by Edward Goodall, William Finden, Daniel Allen, William Miller, brothers John and Henry Le Keux, and several others. Description: Uniformly bound in red full morocco with borders and decoration in gilt and blind to boards and spines. All edges gilt. Bindings remain generally sound and firm, a little darkened in places with some rubbing to extremities, spines a touch sunned. Internally, front hinge of 'Italy' splitting a little and slightly weakened. Small paper number label to top corner of front blank in both volumes. Text-blocks also a little weakened in places with some, mostly early, leaves in 'Italy' sitting a little proud at edges. Both volumes with foxing, age-toning and browning to pages throughout, particularly in 'Italy'. Additional Note: Included in each volume is a small envelope, attached to the front pastedown, addressed to a Miss Crawford of 11 Berkeley Street, Portman Square [London]. Each contains a brief note to Miss Crawford, signed by Samuel Rogers, relating to a social breakfast, presumably hosted by Rogers, to which Miss Crawford and a Mr Crawford (father or brother?) had been invited.
