Overall very good, with minor rubbing and wear to boards and spine. Likely a very early rebind, or an original rebind from a publisher’s remainder. Full title dated 1818, while half title and year on spine dated 1819. Hinges remain in good condition and text block remains bound well. Label with Tallent-Bateman’s name on front pastedown, along with a collection sticker from Manchester. Black-and-white illustration accompanies the start of cantos. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A beautifully preserved piece by Scottish epic poet William Falconer (1732-1770).
