Betty and Jesse were married in 1790. Jesse Mercer born in Chester County was a son of Thomas Mercer (1734-1816) and Jane Hunt Mercer (1739-1772). He descended from Thomas Mercer born in Westtown Pennsylvania in 1694 and Hannah Taylor who married in 1710 (early Quaker families in Pennsylvania) The family bible was passed to daughter Sarah Mercer born in 1804 who was married to Isaac Darlington in 1830 and they had 5 children. According to research Isaac Darlington descended from early Quaker Abraham Darlington who died in Chester PA in 1776.
