Description: Here is a very nice old electrotype copy of an exceptionally rare colonial era coin or token, in quite pleasing condition overall, measuring app. 1 & 3/16" across, with a plain edge. This 19th century impression of an early American political piece shows just minor wear, with some small imperfections nothing severe, and I have not cleaned or altered its appearance in any manner, with four of the pictures having been "enhanced" for clarity. One can see a little crumbling of the legend at the end of "President", along with just a smidgen of the underlying metal near the bottom of the eagle, but again, it's nothing overly distracting, and this would be a nice addition to any Washington collection, until those many thousands of dollars come along allowing you to buy the real deal. The obverse depicts the nation's leader in uniform facing left, with "Washington President" around the top, the date "1792" at the bottom. The reverse features a radiant eagle facing left, a banner in its beak reading "Unum E Pluribus" I believe, and the majestic bird hold arrows and an olive branch in its talons, with thirteen stars at the top. An interesting and attractive bit of Washingtonia! $300. Please note I am always happy to combine shipping costs should you win more than one of my auctions, and I usually add just a minimal additional cost per item. Your business is sincerely appreciated!
