Custom buckram sleeves is faded, dust soiled. Light wear to extremities. Bible itself remains beautifully preserved. Amazingly bound in gilt stamped leather. Moderate wear to extremities with scuffing to corners, rounding to cardboard. Gilt rubbed and faded with slight loss. Front joint repaired by Tony Haverstick at Water Street Bindery in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This was in Tony’s personal reference library. Spine ends exhibit loss with binding exposed. Red rot at rear joint, cracking as a result. Spine abraded overall with creasing and rubbing to surface of leather. *A*B*K* stamped in red morocco at head of spine. Dated 1753 even though this was printed in 1752. Green metallic block printed end papers have toned overtime, soiling at edges with Japanese paper repair at gutter. Old hand ownership dated 1753 crossed out, repaired with Japanese paper. Two other old hand ownerships dating 1848 and 1885 on second end paper below original owner. Title page quite chipped with loss of Fraktur at top and right edges. Internally sound with typical age toning, age staining and light foxing. Free of known marginalia. Old hand ownership on rear fly. All edges gilt, top edges simply gauffered. Binding intact. Please see photos.
