Organised in order of the books of the Bible: Genesis and Exodus (Volume I, Part I), Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy (Volume I, Part II), The Historical Books and the Book of Job (Volume II), Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon (Volume III), Book of the Prophets (Volume IV), The Apocrypha and Seven Tracts on Jewish Antiquities (Volume V), The Gospels (Volume VI), Acts of the Apostles and the Pauline Epistles (Volume VII), Epistles, Revelation, and Tracts on Various Subjects (Volume VIII). Containing commentaries and annotations from Munster, Drusius, Fagius, Forerius, Vatabalus, John Gregoy, Cartwright, Scaliger, Amama, Capellus, and many more. Eight volumes bound in nine. Bookplate of the Evangelical Union, Theological Hall Library to the front pastedowns. CONDITION In contemporary vellum bindings with decorative blindstamps to boards. Externally, rather worn, with loss to five backstrips. Marks to boards, and some wear to the extremities. Some old ink spills to boards also. Hinges are strained. Internally, firmly bound. Front blank of volume I has been removed. Pages are generally quite bright given the age of the volumes, though with some background foxing and the occasional spot. Some institutional blindstamping to half-titles. Overall: GOOD.
