Scotch Two Predator Call This kit of two calls contains a hardwood, adjustable tone, mouth blown call for long range that easily imitates the distress cries of a rabbit, plus our #1553 Mouse Squeaker bulb for close in calling. Calling: When you walk to your calling location, BE QUIET! Then, begin with soft, low calls in case any predators are nearby. If they are close, a soft call will arouse their curiosity, while a loud call would make them cautions. Work the call four to five times in thirty seconds, stop for a minute, then repeat. Keep calling like this for five to ten minutes. If you get no reaction, start calling with a loud pitiful sound, ending each call with a low whimpering. The more you make it sound like a small animal in a lot of pain the better. If no response happens after twenty to thirty minutes, move to a different location at least one half mile away and repeat the entire procedure. Holding the Long Range Predator Call: The wooden call easily imitates the distress cries of a Rabbit. Place the lips up close to the wooden part of the call. Bite down on the plastic mouthpiece about half way and then release this grip quickly while blowing. The first sound should be a high pitch and the second, rough and gravelly. The pitch is easily varied by biting down harder on the mouthpiece. Holding the Close in Mouse Squeaker: This call is used at close range (50 yards or less.) Hold call bulb between thumb and index finger, small end pointing toward the palm of your hand and squeeze two to four times. You can also set this call on the ground and operate it with your foot, or put the call in your pocket and operate it from there. This simulates a mouse under hay or grass and really works. Because mice ar the main diet of fox, they are always listening for them, and this call will bring them in very close. Special Cautions: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat may damage your Scotch Call. Care should be taken to store it in a cool, dry area during extended periods of non-use. In areas where extreme humidity changes occur, expansion and /or contraction of friction fitted parts may cause them to become loose.
