Description: 1950s/60s+ Lionel HO trains, as 14 cars (1 locomotive and 13 cars). Some are from the 1963 No. 5750 “Husky Type Freight” sales unit, but 3 are from the 1950s Atomic Energy Commission set, and I think some were added later in the 60s. Conditions as follow (not specific to paint, which the photos can speak to). Some cars are all wood (except wheels/mounts), some metal, some plastic, as noted below. Functional (all wheels and other ‘specialty’ parts operational) but condition as noted: (1) Santa Fe boxcar with plastic sides/top, metal base (only one coupler present), (2) Union Pacific closed tender with plastic sides/top, metal base (some minor end ‘framing lattice’ missing as pictured [both ends], only one coupler present), (3) wooden fuel tender (both couplers present), (4) metal open tender with 8 hinged doors on bottom (neither coupler present), (5) wooden box car (one door missing, other door works … gingerly, both couplers present, missing 'cosmetic' switch control on one end, missing one ladder to roof), (6) Nickel Plate Road [NPR] wood/metal open tender (trim missing, both couplers present), (7) Baltimore & Ohio red caboose C-1769, plastic (metal trim present, but smokestack missing, single coupler present), … and the following 3 pieces are, I believe, from a separately purchased set. All are from the ‘Atomic Energy Commission’ (AEC) transport system, as a boxcar, missile launcher flat car, and caboose, all as plastic, and as follows: (8) missile launcher flat car (launcher and spare missile holder present, but neither missile present, both couplers present), (9) ‘exploding’ box car with sides/top that blow off when it passes ground trigger (trigger spring and lock in place, but 1 of 4 pins that hold the sides ‘firm’ before 'exploding' is broken … a replacement pin could be constructed with a paper clip and glue…; both couplers present), and (10) AEC caboose, white, #0841 (with none of the metal trim noted for the caboose above, but the same mounting points are present … no idea if it was ever present; one coupler present). Not functional: (11) Baltimore & Ohio metal and plastic diesel engine (screw drive wheels missing, UNK light, UNK screw drive connector assembly, missing cabin cover, no coupler(s), something missing at front (broken plastic for cowcatcher?)); (12) Central Pacific metal lighted (?) passenger car (missing both wheel assemblies, with one wheel pin present; no car couplers; some of passenger steps and trim missing on one end), (13) half-length wooden flat car (missing one wheel assembly, one coupler present); (14) Erie ‘heavy load’ plastic flat car with 3 steel tubes (1 of 4 wheel assemblies missing, probably works with 3, both couplers present). There are a half dozen ‘???’ parts … see image. I also have 2 envelopes, one with a spare locomotive drive belt, and the other with a brass electrical coupler (bushing type, not screw-on). I’ll also include the original papers pictured, such as for the AEC missile launcher and overall #5750 set. It’s likely that the couplers and wheels on the cars listed as non-functional can be arranged into more working sets. Good luck getting the replacement missiles for 35 cents, as listed on the parts order form. Fast shipping, no hassles. Check my feedback.
