1/35 s.Sp. Artilleriewagen Cyber Hobby/Dragon Super Value #9120 Shrink Wrap MISB

Description: I want to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! This is the twentieth kit in the long line of Orange Super Value Packs from Cyber Hobby (Dragon) that has become very hard to find. This is an interesting release of a self-propelled armored railcar with a Panzer III Ausf.N turret with the 7.5cm KwK L/24 gun. It was used late in the war to protect vital rail links and could carry a few infantry troops for defense. This Super Value Pack kit is a repackaging of the very successful Dragon Schwerer Panzerspähwagen (Artilleriewagen) kit (DML #6073) with bonus Waffen Tank Crew 1944/45 figure set (DML #6014). I found a handful of listings for this kit on eBay (mostly from distant sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web about this unique kit: The dragon-models.com site has a page for this kit that shows one of their unique posters outlining the fantastic features of the kit. They also provide the following information about this kit: On both the Western and Eastern Fronts, Germany relied heavily on an extensive rail network to keep its war machine supplied and reinforced. Endless convoys of trains carried armored vehicles and trucks, ammunition, soldiers, food and miscellaneous supplies towards the frontlines. However, these vital train lines were vulnerable to attack from the air as well as the activities of partisans and resistance movements. On the Eastern Front in particular, partisans could play havoc with supply lines in occupied areas, and attacks on trains and railway lines were commonplace. To counter such disruptive activities, Germany produced a variety of specialist rail vehicles to take on the partisans. One such vehicle was the Schwerer Panzerspahwagen (s.Sp.) Artilleriewagen. Cyber Hobby is releasing a 1/35 scale Artilleriewagen as an Orange Box item. This particular vehicle featured a turret taken from a Panzer III that was placed on an armored hull fitted with railcar wheels. This turret had a short-barreled 7.5cm Kw.K L/24 gun that could take on partisans with high explosive rounds. There were also multiple machineguns fitted for all-round defense. Combined with its armored plates, this firepower made the Artilleriewagen a formidable opponent for any partisan group hoping to take on a supply train. As an Orange Box item, the kit also includes a set of crew figures readymade to populate the vehicle and turret. Orange Box is renowned for its value for money, and so the kit contains a length of railway track and associated embankment too. As with popularly received railway items such as flatbed and gondola railcars that have already been released by Orange Box, this latest vehicle allows modelers to make their trains longer and more powerfully armed! - Bonus Figure Set: Waffen Tank Crew 1944/45 (DML #6014) Scalemates.com shows that this is a 2010 release that is a reboxing, with a few new parts, of the original Dragon Schwerer Panzerspähwagen (Artilleriewagen) kit (DML #6073) from 1997 that was based on the new tooling from the same year. The fine tooling has been the basis of a dozen releases across the Gunze Sangyo, Dragon, Shanghai Dragon, Cyber Hobby, Revell and T-Model brands! They have the box art and links to reviews and aftermarket parts for Panzerspähwagens that could be useful. Jim Stratton delivered an informative Build Review on the reviews.ipmsusa.org site that gives a history of these railcars. He describes the construction and finishing steps while providing some tips from his project. He shares five photos of the finished product, along with shots of the parts layout sheet and the unpainted model being built. He points out that: “The finished model sits on the typical Dragon track section, which is designed to be attached with other track bed bases from Dragon’s previously released train cars. This is helpful if you want to build an armored train with more than one car.” CPR Classic Plastic Review posted a 3.5-minute In-Box Review video on YouTube. It is simply a montage of photos set to a rock music background. It starts with the instructions and the PE parts for the figures, along with the decals for the railcar. Next you get the sprues and close-ups of the part details, followed by the figure set and railbed components. Obsessed With Armor published a long (18+ minutes) Unboxing Video on YouTube that starts with an overview of the parts as the bags are removed from the box. The detailed review begins with the instructions and construction sequence. Each sprue is then covered in detail with continuous narration. He does a good job of focusing the camera on the parts to expose the intricate detail of these moldings. At the end, you get black-and-white photos of actual Artilleriewagens in various conditions to let you know what they really looked like in action. This kit is in a large, sturdy box about 15” x 9.5” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in terrific shape and still snugly sealed with the original shrink wrap, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with over 180 grey plastic parts, a fret of photo etched metal parts, a tiny sheet of Cartograf decals, a section of railway track bed and a bonus set of five Waffen Tank Crew figures (DML #6014).
