12" Antique German Bisque Head Bahr & Proschild Toddler Doll Mold #585

Description: Up for your consideration is this charming little boy who looks like he's anxious to join his friends with his wonderful, seemingly mischievous expression. He's a darling little toddler at just 12"; perfect cabinet size! He would be perfect to add in with your little girl baby dolls. He has a bisque socket head that is perfect; no cracks, chips or hairlines. The cheeks are beautifully blush down to the double chin. He has the painted feathered brows and painted lashes; blue glass sleep eyes with eye wax still intact; an open mouth with two porcelain upper teeth; and a blonde mohair bobbed wig on the original pate. The top eyelashes have faded just a bit. The body is a composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing in excellent condition. No chips/cracks to the composition or wear and tear at the joints. Still has the red definition lines between fingers. Doesn't look like he's been played with. Stringing is a little loose as he does not hold a pose well. I currently have him displayed sitting down. Please see photos as they show details much better. His little cotton sailor-style tunic with matching knickers are original to him and in great antique condition. It is a beige/yellowish gingham fabric. Some of the outfit has faded just a bit and there is some loose stitching at the sleeve cuff. The pants are tied closed. Wears a little dickey under the coat that is stitched to his pants. The tam looks like it may have been added later, but I'm not sure. There are no undergarments. He wears cotton socks and wonderful antique ankle tie shoes. I will send along his little toy sail boat.
