Description: 10+ Ayam Cemani Hatching Eggs | TN NPIP Certified | Free Ship | Happy Hatching Hello Friends - We are excited to bring you fresh eggs from our happy hens. These unwashed eggs come from our free-range, healthy flock. While this flock is considered free-range, they are kept in their own breeding area so that they are the only breed in that area to ensure you are receiving full-blooded Ayam Cemani hatching eggs. Each egg is selected and packaged for you carefully. We hope these chicken eggs bring you joy and a more colorful variety to your backyard flock and home. Please do your own research, but here is a bit of information that I have gathered that may be helpful.Ayam Cemani eggs are NOT black. Their eggs are a tinted or cream-colored. An Ayam Cemani hen will lay an average of 100 to 120 eggs per year after they are about 6 months old. My hens started laying right at 7.5-8 months.Ayam Cemani is a rare breed of chicken from Indonesia. They have a dominant gene that causes hyperpigmentation (fibromelanosis), making the chicken mostly black, including feathers, beak, and internal organs. When you hatch Ayam Cemani eggs, there will be genetic leakage -- meaning that not all will be solid black. Most will be black, but they could have clear toes, clear beaks, red come through on their combs, gold"ish" or silver"ish" feathers come through when they are maturing, etc. This is a high cull rate breed. I assume it is because the ones with the genetic leakage are usually killed and not used for breeding. I, personally, just throw those babies in with my barnyard mix chicks to live out their happy lives here at Big Mama Hen House. :-) We encourage you to read through all the information below including our no return policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us, and we will do our best to get you successfully hatching. ********************What does "pasture raised" and "free range" mean on our farm?Pasture raised is when our hens run free on our property. They can roam to the yard, woods, etc. If you are looking for this type of hatching egg that are only pasture raised, please see our ad called "barnyard mix." The barnyard mix will be mixed breeds. In this post, we are offering Ayam Cemani hatching eggs only. They have to be separated from our pasture-raised flock in order to be sure they are only breeding other Ayam Cemani. While our Ayam Cemani flock is considered free-range, they are kept in their own breeding area so that they are the only breed in that area to ensure you are receiving full-blooded Ayam Cemani hatching eggs. ********************What steps do I need to take before putting my newly-arrived eggs in the incubator? Please DO NOT put your eggs directly in the incubator. Let them rest at room temperature in an egg carton with the pointy end of the egg facing down for 24 hours. This is also a good time to start your incubator so that it has 24 hours to warm up and allow the temperature and humidity to level out. If you know that your eggs are going to arrive on a certain day, it is best to be home. You don't want them to be out in the cold too long, nor do you want them left in the sun for too long. This may lessen your chance of successful hatching. We live in TN, and we are normally a pretty humid state. We, personally, dry hatch our hatching eggs, but this may not be successful for you depending on your location. Please research and find out what your humidity should be for your hatching eggs. Since we are shipping from TN, your air cell within your eggs will be a bit smaller. We recommend you track your air cell while incubating. If your air cells are not growing large enough, you have too much humidity. This is what was happening to us in the beginning, and our chicks were drowning in the egg (at least this is what we gathered from the research). This is when we learned about dry hatching -- which works where we live. If you can't dry hatch, we recommend below 40% for the first 18 days and then 65% during your lockdown days. The incubators that we use auto-set the temperature for chicken hatching eggs to 99.5. This has worked for us. Do not open your incubator during lockdown as this may "shrinkwrap" your chicks that have already started to pip through (another research topic that we learned the hard way). We know you want to love on them, but be patient! We normally let our little hatched chicks hang out in the incubator for 24-48 hours after hatch just to be sure all their brothers and sisters make it out. ********************How long does it take chicken eggs to hatch?21 days (We usually give them one extra day to make it out of the egg -- just in case...lol.) ********************What color will my Ayam Cemani chickens be? Black; however, there is a possibility for some to have genetic leakage. For those that have genetic leakage, they could have clear toes, clear beaks, red come through on their combs as they mature, gold"ish" or silver"ish" feathers come through when they are maturing, etc. If you plan to breed for pure black, you want to choose the ones with no genetic leakage for your breeder stock from what I've gathered in researching this breed. ********************What color hatching eggs will I receive?Ayam Cemani eggs are NOT black. They are a tinted or cream-colored egg. ********************Is your flock certified?Yes, we are NPIP certified in the state of TN, and we are AI clean. ********************Is your flock safe as free-range chickens? We always say they are living their best life. Yes, there is a chance of predators, but we take extra steps to help ensure the safety of our animals. In addition, we use electric poultry netting to border our property to help keep out predators, and we have a Great Pyrenees guardian dog that lives with our birds to protect them. ********************When will you ship my eggs?We ship via USPS Priority Mail. We will ship your eggs within 1-4 business days as we pick them fresh for you. We will ship you our freshest picked eggs. If you need them shipped on a certain date, please contact us with any special instructions. We will attempt to accommodate as much as we can. ********************How much is shipping? This post has FREE shipping to you b/c we pay for it on our side. We have calculated shipping within our costs which includes all of our packing materials, etc. to make the buying process easier. ********************What is your return policy? We DO NOT accept returns or cancellations due to the nature of hatching eggs. By making this purchase, you agree to the following:1. There is no guarantee on hatch rates. 2. The hatch rate may be from 0 to 100 percent.3. This purchase is for hatching eggs only (not live chicks).4. Purchase only if you are willing to assume the risk of shipped eggs as refunds cannot be given. 5. Shipping eggs can be risky with any delivery company, including the USPS, as it has to go through several facilities, vehicles, post offices, bumps, and more.6. Shipping eggs is for sure a gamble, but also hatching rates may decrease for other reasons, including, but not limited to, variables with incubating.7. Note that USPS can take longer to deliver than anticipated for many different reasons; however, as long as they are delivered within 10 days from the day we ship them, put them in the incubator as we can't offer returns for these. They are still considered viable. If your shipment arrives past 10 days from the day we ship them, please contact us, and we will send you out a fresh shipment of eggs as long as USPS confirms the delivery date was more than 10 days from the shipping date.8. Since we are certified, we do not (and cannot) allow or accept returns due to the nature of dealing with live-hatching eggs and bio-hazard risks. Again, if you cannot agree to all of these terms, please do not purchase eggs from us, but we do hope you take the risk. If you are able to agree to these terms, then we are happy you have decided to give us a chance to fulfill your purchase. It is such a joy to see new life spring out of an egg. Happy Hatching!!!
