In 1980 he won the Tochigi Prefectural Cultural Award Award. 1994 He received the Gold Award of the Japan Ceramic Association in 1995. 1996 Shimaoka Tatsuzo, accredited as a nationally designated important intangible cultural property holder (human national treasure).
